Plans and bookmarks

Your draft, named plans and reading list are stored in your browser’s local storage. We do not upload this data to our server. Clearing site storage removes it. Exporting a plan creates a file on your device containing its equipment, inventory and optional name.

A share link puts equipment choices into its URL, excluding inventory and plan name. Anyone with the link can read those choices. Our web-server access log does not record query strings, and pages use a strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy.

Anonymous usage counters

We count page views and actions such as calculator use, saving, sharing and feedback submission. Each record is aggregated by day, page path, action type and a broad referrer category such as search or direct. We do not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs, user-agent strings, advertising identifiers or an individual browsing history in this analytics database. The server necessarily receives your network address while handling a request.

A local yes/no marker and a session-storage flag let the browser signal a returning visit. These are not unique identifiers. Counts are approximate events, not verified unique people. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Language and country

When you open a URL without a language prefix, we use your IP address to estimate your country on this server. We do not send it to a geolocation provider or store it for this purpose. Your manual language choice takes priority and is remembered in a first-party cookie for one year. If country detection is unavailable or unsupported, we use your browser language, then English. A URL with a language prefix always opens that language. VPNs and network routing can affect country estimates.

IP country data by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Language versions are AI-assisted translations of the English reference pages. You can switch language or report a translation problem at any time.

Server logs

Site access logs contain timestamp, request method, path without query parameters, status, bytes and request duration. They do not contain IP addresses or referrer strings. Error logs may include network information when diagnosing failures. Logs are rotated and retained for a limited operational period, normally up to 14 rotations. Aggregate analytics are retained for up to 180 days.

Feedback and contact

Submitting the contact form sends your message, category, optional page path and optional email address to our server. These submissions are private, used to handle the enquiry and deleted after 30 days by a scheduled maintenance task. Please do not include sensitive personal information. To request earlier deletion, use the form and identify your previous submission without repeating sensitive details.

Advertising and outside links

This launch does not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts. If we introduce them, this notice and any applicable consent controls will be updated. Source links take you to other websites with their own policies. Fonts and the site illustration are hosted with this site.
