WoW Forever Legacy points: the 16-point spending cap explained

THE SHORT ANSWER

At launch, each character can spend at most 16 Legacy points. Up to 65 points can be earned; earning more does not let a character spend all 65.

Earn together, allocate separately

Legacy challenges reward familiar activities such as leveling different classes and reaching profession milestones. Earned points are shared across characters, while each character allocates its own points independently.

The three initial trees support profession benefits, adventuring and convenience. Examples in the announcement include more gathering materials, improved rested experience accumulation and capacity, and removing reagent requirements for class spells.

Plan priorities without inventing a build

For an alt, rested-experience benefits may match your goals; for a gatherer, material yield may be more relevant. These are planning considerations, not a tested optimal allocation.

The announcement is not a complete, final talent database. We are not assigning invented costs, prerequisites or percentages to talents. Recheck the actual trees during beta and after release before committing to a build.

Future updates may add challenges, talents, new rows or trees and raise the spending cap. The numbers here describe the announced launch scope, checked September 27, 2026.
