Valheim forge recipe, repairs and upgrade levels
Build a forge with 6 copper, 4 stone, 4 coal and 10 wood, using a workbench. Give it suitable shelter. Equipment repair itself does not consume materials.
Reserve copper before making bronze
If you turn your entire copper supply into bronze before building a forge, you have misallocated the building budget. The forge needs copper directly. Our bronze equipment planner deliberately excludes station construction, so keep its 6 copper separate.
A forge needs a roof and sufficient cover to be usable. If the station exists but cannot be used, inspect shelter and placement before assuming that your material recipe is wrong.
Improvements raise the station level
Forge improvements must be built near the forge and placed so that the game recognizes them. Each recognized improvement raises its level. Some improvement recipes require materials or stations reached later in progression.

Separate three different expenses
Initial crafting creates a new item. Upgrading improves its quality and consumes additional materials. Repairing restores durability and does not consume those materials. Do not put repair cycles into your crafting budget.
The planner reports the forge quality needed by the six supported equipment recipes. It does not choose which improvement buildings you should construct, because your available materials and progression determine that decision.
